This March, the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) joins the nation in celebrating National Women’s Month under the 2023–2028 theme, “WE for Gender Equality and an Inclusive Society.”

“WE” stands for Women and Everyone, a reminder that gender equality is a shared responsibility requiring collective action across institutions and communities.

This observance honors women’s contributions to nation-building while recognizing the work that remains to close gaps in economic participation, leadership, and access to services.

Gender equality also strengthens the country’s approach to drug prevention and control. Effective policy must recognize how social conditions—including gender—shape vulnerability, access to support, and recovery outcomes. Inclusive and responsive frameworks lead to better protection, better services, and more sustainable results.

Through policy direction, standards-setting, whole-of-government convergence, and performance monitoring, the DDB integrates Gender and Development principles in advancing a balanced, health-centered, and human rights-based approach—strengthening prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and reintegration efforts to remain inclusive and responsive to diverse needs.

 WE act for equality.
WE build stronger communities.
WE move forward together.
