Recognizing that the campaign against illegal drugs requires both strong institutions and active community participation, the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) convened at Camp Major Bado Dangwa in La Trinidad, Benguet to honor law enforcement units and civilian partners who have strengthened national efforts.

The ceremony was led by DDB Chairperson – Secretary Oscar Valenzuela and PDEA Director – General Undersecretary Isagani Nerez, alongside key PDEA officials, underscoring unified leadership and a shared commitment to safeguarding communities.

The recognition highlighted the impact of coordinated action. The Police Regional Office – Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR) received a Certificate of Appreciation for its operational support across Baguio City, Kalinga, and Mountain Province.

Frontline units were likewise commended for tangible results. The Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15, the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of the Kalinga Police Provincial Office, and the Sadanga Municipal Police Station of the Mountain Province Police Provincial Office were recognized for operations that led to the destruction of millions of pesos worth of marijuana and the arrest of drug offenders.

Civilian participation was also acknowledged through incentives under “Operation Private Eye,” honoring informants whose verified intelligence enabled successful operations. Their contributions reflect the vital role of public cooperation in effective enforcement.

In his keynote address, Secretary Valenzuela emphasized that addressing illegal drugs is a shared responsibility of government, the private sector, and every Filipino. He noted that each recognition represents a collective commitment to protect the youth, uphold community safety, and advance a drug-free society.

Pursuant to Board Regulation No. 5, Series of 2003, the DDB ensures that citizen contributions are recognized in accordance with established standards, promoting integrity and accountability.

These recognitions affirm that the strength of the campaign lies in the combined efforts of institutions and citizens working together to protect communities and secure the nation’s future.
