The Dangerous Drugs Board proudly witnessed the inauguration and blessing of the newly constructed Argao District Jail-Reformatory Center in Cebu, known as “Kanlungan sa Piitan,” of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology.
Kanlungan sa Piitan is a jail-based reformation center primarily catering to Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) ordered by the courts to undergo six months of drug rehabilitation.
Chairman of the Dangerous Drugs Board, Secretary Catalino Cuy, who graced the event, emphasized the center’s role, stating, “𝗔𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘀 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵.”
The DDB has provided financial support amounting to 15 Million Pesos for the construction and maintenance of the Center, in accordance with Board Regulation No. 8, Series of 2021.
