Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) Chairperson – Secretary Oscar Valenzuela shares his message for the 2025 Drug Abuse Prevention and Control (DAPC) Week. Guided by its mandate under Republic Act No. 9165, the DDB continues to lead the country in setting policy direction, formulating national strategies, and driving public information efforts on drug abuse prevention and control. In line with Proclamation No. 124, s. 2001, the DDB once again steers this annual observance, an enduring national platform that brings communities together to deepen awareness, elevate conversations on health, and strengthen collective responsibility for the safety and well-being of every Filipino.
Reflecting this year’s theme, “Sa Bagong Pilipinas, Kalusugan ay Pinapahalagahan, Droga ay Inaayawan,” Secretary Valenzuela’s message underscores that Preventive Education, Treatment and Rehabilitation, Reintegration and Aftercare, and Alternative Development, are not only essential aspects of the Enhanced Philippine Anti-illegal Drugs Strategy, but are commitments that shape a humane, balanced, and evidence-informed national strategy. He emphasizes the indispensable roles of families, schools, local government units, national agencies, and community organizations in creating environments where support is accessible, choices are informed, and healthier paths are possible.
To support partners across the country, the full video recording of Secretary Valenzuela’s message will be made available for download. Makiisa tayo sa paghubog ng isang malusog, ligtas, at may malasakit na Bagong Pilipinas. Sama-sama, kaya natin itong maisakatuparan.
