The Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) recently concluded its annual Management Review, bringing together its operating units under the guidance of Top Level Management to assess the organization’s performance, review accomplishments, discuss issues and challenges, and identify areas for improvement.
As part of the DDB’s Quality Management System (QMS), the Management Review provides an avenue for Top Level Management and the operating units to evaluate the effectiveness and continuing suitability of the organization’s processes and performance in relation to its objectives and mandate.
During the review, the operating units presented updates on their respective accomplishments, performance results, issues encountered, and action plans. These provided the basis for discussions on the organization’s performance, the effectiveness of existing processes, and actions that may be undertaken to address identified gaps and sustain good practices.
The review also strengthened coordination among the operating units by providing a common venue to share observations, address cross-cutting concerns, and align priorities. With the guidance of Top Level Management, the discussions supported informed decision-making and helped identify measures to further improve the organization’s systems and operations.
The results of the Management Review will serve as inputs to the DDB’s continuing improvement efforts, including addressing identified issues, sustaining effective practices, and enhancing processes where necessary. Through this annual exercise, the DDB reinforces its commitment to sound management, accountability, and the consistent delivery of quality public service.
The DDB recognizes the participation and contributions of its operating units and personnel in the successful conduct of the Management Review. Their collective efforts contribute to maintaining an organization that continually examines its performance, learns from its experience, and takes purposeful action to better fulfill its mandate.
