Salient matters were discussed and presented by various member agencies of the Board during the Dangerous Drugs Board 200th Regular Board Meeting last August 16, 2023
DDB Chairman Catalino Cuy tackled the Guidelines on Drug Profiling crafted through an Inter-Agency Workshop based on the directive of Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.
Sec. Cuy layed out the provision’s Guiding procedure which covers: operation, origin of the surrendered drugs, distribution patterns, methods of clandestine drug manufacture, and enhancement of intelligence network. Other articles discussed under the Drug Profiling Guidelines were Drug Profiling Databases and its Final Provisions.
Present during the Board Meeting is Director General Moro Virgilio Lazo of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency to discuss the Proposed Amendment on Board Regulation No. 3, Series of 2021 and Board Regulation No. 1, Series of 2016 regarding the Guidelines in the Implementation of Operation: “Lawmen”.
Operation: Lawmen is a program for granting a reward or award to law enforcers or members of the anti-illegal drug operating unit after conducting successful anti-drug operations.
PDEA Director General Lazo also presented the Proposed Amendment on DDB Regulation No. 5, Series of 2003 as further amended by DDB Regulation No. 12, Series of 2018 regarding the Implementation of Operation: “Private Eye”.
Operation: Private Eye, on the other hand, is a citizen-based information collection program designed to encourage the active participation of every private citizen to report any suspected illegal drug activities in their communities.
