The Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) convened for its 205th Regular Board Meeting, bringing together its member-agencies to strengthen the country’s collective response to illegal drugs. Serving as presiding officer, DDB Chairperson Secretary Oscar Valenzuela led the Board in going through the day’s agenda and deliberations.
The ex-officio member agencies of the Board include the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Department of Health (DOH), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Education (DepEd), Department of Justice (DOJ), Department of National Defense (DND), Department of Finance (DOF), Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), and National Youth Commission (NYC). They are joined by the Board’s permanent consultants, the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). Together, these institutions ensure a balanced and united approach to the country’s drug challenge.
The DDB reinforces its mandate as the government’s central policy-making body on drug prevention and control. With the collective commitment of all member-agencies, each decision made by the Board is directed toward creating safer homes, stronger communities, and a healthier future for every Filipino.
