Iriga City is reinforcing its local rehabilitation initiatives through ₱5 million in financial assistance from the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB). The assistance will support the City’s community-based treatment and rehabilitation efforts, expanding the availability of locally delivered interventions for persons recovering from substance use disorders.
The financial assistance was formally turned over by DDB Executive Director – Undersecretary Earl Saavedra and received by Mayor Wilfredo Rex C. Oliva during a ceremony attended by the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, department heads, and other City Government officials.
In his message, Undersecretary Saavedra emphasized that sustained collaboration between national agencies and local governments is essential to expanding access to treatment and rehabilitation services. Mayor Oliva, meanwhile, reaffirmed the City’s commitment to the timely implementation of the project, recognizing its role in strengthening local capacity to support recovery and promote the health and well-being of Irigueños.
This initiative provides the City with a stronger foundation for implementing community-based interventions that encourage recovery, social reintegration, and long-term community participation, contributing to a more comprehensive local response to substance use disorders.
