The Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) commends the recent accomplishment of the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR) in its intensified anti-illegal drug operations in Kalinga, which resulted in the discovery and destruction of marijuana plants with an estimated Standard Drug Price of ₱228 million.
Conducted under OPLAN “Revisit Everest,” the two-day operation in Mt. Chumanchil, Tinglayan, Kalinga led to the eradication of marijuana plantation sites spanning approximately 9.5 hectares. The activity also included symbolic environmental restoration efforts through tree planting and a flag raising ceremony at the site.
The operation highlights continuing efforts to address illegal cultivation activities while reinforcing the importance of environmental stewardship, community safety, and sustained inter-agency coordination in geographically isolated areas.
