The Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) Secretariat successfully completed its 2026 Internal Quality Audit (IQA) as part of the continuous enhancement of its Quality Management System (QMS).

Conducted in accordance with the ISO 9001:2015 standard, the three-day audit assessed how the Secretariat’s systems and processes support its mandate to provide technical and administrative assistance to the Board in the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of drug abuse prevention and control initiatives. The review covered 35 core processes, encompassing both frontline and support services across the organization.

The audit verified the effectiveness of corrective actions implemented in response to previous audit observations, identified areas for further enhancement, and assessed the implementation of quality management practices in preparation for the agency’s upcoming Second Surveillance Audit.

The assessment recorded zero (0) non-conformities, 18 Opportunities for Improvement, and 26 Positive Findings, confirming the effective implementation of the Secretariat’s Quality Management System while providing clear direction for development.

Based on the audit results, the DDB Secretariat is assessed as fully prepared for the 2026 ISO 9001:2015 Second Surveillance Audit.
