Continuing its support for local treatment and rehabilitation initiatives, the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB), represented by Permanent Member – Undersecretary Abad Osit, formally turned over financial assistanceamounting to ₱5,000,000.00 to the Municipality of Talibon, Bohol.

Mayor Janette Garcia, together with municipal department heads, received the cheque on behalf of the local government. The assistance will fund the construction of a Multi-Purpose Building–Rehabilitation Center, a facility intended to strengthen the municipality’s capacity to provide treatment, rehabilitation, and recovery support services at the community level.

The project is expected to contribute to the development of local infrastructure that supports individuals undergoing recovery and reintegration, while expanding access to services that may be delivered through community-based treatment and rehabilitation programs. By investing in facilities that support these interventions, local governments are better positioned to respond to the needs of individuals and families affected by drug use.

Representatives from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) also attended the turnover activity, reflecting the participation of key local stakeholders in advancing drug abuse prevention and control efforts within the municipality.

The financial assistance was provided pursuant to Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and Board Resolution No. 1, Series of 2026, which authorizes the provision of support for projects and facilities that contribute to treatment, rehabilitation, recovery, and reintegration initiatives.
