Emerging challenges call for collective action.
New psychoactive substances continue to emerge in different parts of the world, often evolving faster than existing monitoring and control mechanisms. Their changing composition, appearance, and effects present growing challenges for public health, public safety, and regulatory systems.
In response to these developments, the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) will conduct a Public Consultation on the proposed Early Warning System for New Psychoactive Substances on 17 June 2026.
The proposed system seeks to establish a mechanism for the early detection, monitoring, information sharing, risk assessment, and reporting of emerging psychoactive substances. As part of the policy development process, the consultation aims to gather comments, recommendations, and insights from stakeholders and interested members of the public to help strengthen the proposed system.
The DDB encourages all interested individuals, communities, partner agencies, organizations, academic institutions, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders to take part in this important discussion tomorrow at 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (PHT) via Webex.
