The Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) recognizes that many acts that help keep communities safe are often carried out quietly, yet their impact is real and far reaching, as reflected in the recent recognition of individualsunder the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency’s (PDEA) Operation Private Eye.

A total of 31 civilian informants nationwide were awarded ₱7,466,707.69 as incentives for information that contributed to 33 anti-drug operations, leading to the disruption of illegal drug activities, the seizure of significant quantities of dangerous drugs, and the arrest of high value drug personalities. These figures point to how timely and verified information from the public can translate into concrete action on the ground.

Behind these outcomes are members of the community who chose to share information through proper channels, allowing authorities to act on verified leads. Their contributions, though often unseen, play a direct role in strengthening enforcement efforts and protecting communities.

This mechanism is anchored on Board Regulation No. 5, Series of 2003, which provides the framework for granting incentives for information that leads to successful anti-drug operations, ensuring that all reports are evaluated and handled within established standards.

DDB Chairperson – Secretary Oscar Valenzuela, joined by Permanent Board Members Undersecretary Abad Osit and Undersecretary Armando Ramolete, highlighted that effective responses to illegal drugs depend not only on enforcement outcomes but also on public trust, integrity in implementation, and the shared responsibility of both institutions and communities.

PDEA Director General – Undersecretary Isagani Nerez likewise highlighted the role of public cooperation in strengthening operational effectiveness.
