During the ๐๐ข๐ ๐ ๐ง๐ ๐ฆ๐ ๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ฒ ๐๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ญ ๐๐๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ข๐ ๐๐ข๐ ๐๐ฐ๐๐ซ๐๐ฌ ๐๐๐๐ in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) Chairperson- Secretary Oscar Valenzuela delivered a keynote message recognizing the commitment of barangay leaders in advancing community stability and public safety.
In his address, he acknowledged the everyday responsibilities carried by local officials, noting that governance at the grassroots level shapes the lived realities of families and the opportunities available to the youth. He emphasized that sustained progress depends on structured local leadership and the consistent implementation of programs that protect communities.
Secretary Valenzuela also reaffirmed the countryโs comprehensive approach to drug prevention and control, highlighting the integrated pillars of supply reduction, demand reduction, and health, social, and developmental services. He stressed that these efforts are most effective when local governments and Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (ADACs) operate with coordination and accountability.
