During the meeting, the Philippines also served as the head of the ASOD Working Group on Treatment and Rehabilitation. Ms. Ma. Victoria C. Sorne, Officer-in-Charge, Deputy Executive Director for Administration of the Board, led the discussion of the different solutions and gaps in the implementation of treatment and rehabilitation interventions. The session highlighted stronger cooperation and emphasized the importance of a committed community to continuously improve the lives of People Who Use Drugs (PWUDs) within the region.
Also joining the Philippine Delegation to the ASOD are Mr. Kevin A. Bumagat of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Ms. Francis Grace H. Duka-Pante, Director of the ASEAN Training Center for Preventive Drug Education (ATCPDE), and Deputy Director Elyvenson D. Plaza of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
The Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC) of Myanmar hosted the three-day gathering held via video conference.
